Qualifying students may submit their ABSTRACT for special consideration in the annual Student Paper/Presentation prize competition. Six finalists will be nominated by the International Advisory Committee to compete in a closed prize committee presentation at the conference in Tucson. First, second and third place winners will be recognized and receive a cash prize at the conference.

The 2014 Kenneth J Button Prize has been awarded to Dr. Xi-Cheng Zhang of the University of Rochester for "outstanding contributions to the field of THz time domain spectroscopy and applications." Professor Zhang will be giving a Plenary Talk at the conference in Tucson, where he will receive his prize in a special ceremony.
