The IRMMW-THz 2008 REGISTRATION and accommodations sites are open.
The deadline for ABSTRACT submissions has passed. Paper selection and assigned slotting is now complete. Authors will be notified of their submission status on May 16th. Final papers are due on June 30th.

550 abstracts were received from 33 countries and 478 papers have been scheduled for oral and poster sessions. 54 Keynote talks were also solicited and speakers are now listed on the conference website.
Regular Registration continues through June 30th.
A complete
guest program has also been arranged with registration for specific events/activities available on May 17th.
Late Registration begins July 1.

The International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves has been renamed as:

Journal of Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz) in keeping pace with the conference.

BY-LAWS COMMITTEE FORMED
The IOC has formed a By Laws committee to draft procedural documents to help future conference organizers. The committee consists of T. Parker, R. Temkin, M. von Ortenberg and P. Siegel. A draft is now complete and will be distributed to IOC members following the 2008 conference venue. For more information please contact Peter Siegel at phs@caltech.edu

IRMMW-THz 2007 at the histopric City Hall in Cardiff, Wales is now over. Sorry if we missed you but please remember to come join us in 2008 in Pasadena, California.
REMINDER: Delegates who attended the conference and would like to submit an expanded version of their presentations for publication should send their papers to:

The 2006 IRMMW-THz conference in Shanghai, China is now finished. Over 550 papers have been submitted from university, industry, and government laboratories representing 28 countries and regions around the world. A final program listing is available from the conference website.

*2011 CONFERENCE PROPOSALS*
Those who wish to propose sites and venues for the 2011 IRMMW-THz conference to be held in North America should plan on attending the 2008 conference in Pasadena California and make a short (5-10) minute presentation to the the International Organizing Committee at their annual IOC meeting. This will be followed by a short (1 page) written proposal to be submitted to the IOC chair on or before January 1, 2009. The proposal should contain the following information:
1. Venue (or city) and suggested dates (month/days)
2. Members of the local organizing committee (preliminary)
3. Official sponsoring organization (if any, i.e. university, laboratory, company, etc.)
4. Access to/from the nearest international airport
5. Meeting room facilities (number, seating capacity, etc.)
6. Local Accommodations (number and rates of hotels, etc.)
7. Merits of the location (social program, sightseeing, shopping, etc.)
8. Others pertinent information that would help in the decision process

*2009 CONFERENCE SITE*
The 2009 IRMMW-THz conference site was selected at the IOC meeting in Shanghai. The conference will be held in Busan, Korea from September 21-25.

*2010 CONFERENCE SITE*
IRMMW-THz 2010 will be held in Rome, Italy between September 6-10.

By vote of the IOC the name of the IRMMW-THz conference has been changed to:
