In this study we present a novel RTD oscillator with simplified structure and fabrication process. By getting rid of the MIM capacitor that is used in conventional RTD oscillators for separating DC and THz circuits, the fabrication process of the proposed RTD oscillator was greatly simplified. We also successfully fabricated the novel RTD oscillators with oscillation frequency of up to 742 GHz. The operation of the novel RTD oscillators were validated by experiment result. The novel RTD oscillator could enable massive RTD oscillator arrays that are useful for THz applications such as imaging and wireless communications.
