The water vapor absorption is one of the biggest challenges typically mentioned for terahertz wireless communication. However, this absorption could also be used to an advantage. We propose to exploit water vapor absorption for enhancing the security of communication against eavesdropping. We simulate the properties of a terahertz channel, and propose that tuning the carrier frequency can be used for range-based security.
