Nanoscale structure of molecular assemblies plays a major role in many ()-biological mechanisms. Molecular crystals are one of the most simple of these assemblies and are widely used in from pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, to nutraceuticals and cosmetics. We present on the recent findings in clarifying the role of water in the structure of molecular crystals. A specific experimental setup is built to allow the controlled heating and corresponding hydration of the sample, providing the monitoring of the transformation dynamics. Thanks
to the performance of DFT simulations, we attributed the different recorded spectra to the respective conformation and crystal phase.
