Utilizing Nonlocality In Graphene Hyperbolic Metamaterial For THz Sources

A multilayer Graphene-Dielectric Hyperbolic Metamaterial ((HMM) displays extreme anisotropic nature and a hyperbolic dispersion. This enables it to support high-k modes. In this work we investigate the nonlocal effects of a Graphene- Dielectric HMM structure and its role in supporting the high k-modes, which in an isotropic medium are evanescent. In this work the analysis has been carried out using the dispersion curve study along with the decay rate calculation.The work suggests that in order to realize THz source ,based on Grapehene HMM the fill factor must be fixed such that the structure shows non-local effects.
