Transperth buses and ferries will get you to and around Perth, and in metropolitan areas, Perth’s blue, red, green and yellow CAT buses offer free and frequent transport services to many of the city’s highlights. A good network of train lines gets you into and out of Perth City, taking you west to Fremantle (Walyalup), north to Joondalup, east to Midland and south to Armadale and Mandurah (Mandjoogoordap). Perth has an excellent network of roads and all major car hire companies have an office in the city or at Perth airport.

Getting to Perth by air

Perth is well-serviced by approximately 18 international airlines, with direct flights from the UK, Middle East, South Africa, New Zealand and Asia.

Domestic Flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, and Darwin operate regularly. The flight time from Sydney to Perth averages four hours.

Upon arrival in Perth, various private airport shuttle bus companies will take you from the domestic and international airports to several pick-up and drop-off points near accommodation and public transport terminals throughout Perth city.

Getting to UWA

Buses to our Perth campus are frequent, with regular services from the city, Subiaco, Northbridge, Morley, Bedford, Inglewood, Mt Lawley and western suburbs.

Transperth’s Circle Route (998, 999) travels from Fremantle along Stirling Highway to suburbs north of UWA. Transperth’s Purple CAT bus is free and travels between Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and UWA via Kings Park and Thomas St.

If you live elsewhere in Perth, it might be best to catch a bus or train to the Subiaco Train Station or the Perth CBD and transfer to a UWA bus service.
